It is a crying shame that the Expansion Punks weren’t doing exactly what the Nakamigos just did, showing up at Node, honoring Cryptopunks, and making everyone there want to buy an xPunk too. It was the vision I had for xPunks from the start. Ah well. Time to buy a Meeg.
Reminder: Farcaster got a $150 million series A, valuing it at $1 billion less than two years ago. Merkel told us they didn’t need all that money. Like many other users, I was hoping for an AirDrop that never came. Paradigm and a 16 Z and others were also hoping for an exit that never came.
Would love to know how much of that $150 million was left when Neynar closed the deal. And I wonder what conditions the investors placed on it.
My guess? Neynar takes the keys, takes over the existing war chest, and runs it as Merkle did, subject to the same conditions. Dan and V take what, $10 million each to walk away? What’s your guess?

We are going to a matinee that starts at noon. We will actually leave the house at noon, drive there in 20 minutes, take 10 minutes to buy popcorn and go to the bathroom. We will still be seated before the movie starts.
