Prince Fasnik is a traditional carnival figure celebrated in Samobr (Croatia), especially during the period before Lent. Prince Fasnik symbolizes all the bad events, mistakes, and misfortunes that happened during the past year. At the end of the carnival, he is “put on trial” in a humorous ceremony where he is blamed for everything that went wrong. After the trial, he is sentenced and burned.
The burning of Prince Fašnik represents cleansing and a fresh start. By symbolically destroying him, people say goodbye to the old year’s problems and welcome a new beginning filled with hope, happiness, and better luck. I also hope that crypto market will have fresh green start!!!
