I've been hunched over a desk for nearly all 3 decades of my life. From sitting in a classroom to sitting in an office (and now a home office).
All day, sitting. All day, hunched. Craning my neck and looking for any position to rest.
Searching for respite from all the little aches that built up over the years. My body (and im guessing yours, too) was filled with shortened and strained muscles, overworked muscles from compensating for my poor posture.
It made a full day of work at my desk painful. And I knew it shouldn't be this painful to be sedentary, but I hadn't found a good way to alleviate it.
Sure, I foam roll my back every morning. Im active, I stretch and workout and (usually) get a proper warm up in. All those activities were great. It was the 9-10 hours of being immobile that did the damage.
So I started working on it. Then I built a little buddy to help me focus and move during my work days. I use the Pomodoro technique, so I get a boost in productivity to go with my movement breaks.
And then I wanted to see how I was doing with making progress. So I built a posture scan and analysis tool to see how I'm improving.
And its working! My tech neck (CVA) is making big strides!
If you're like me and spend most of your waking hours at a computer or on your phone, there's a pretty good chance you've got some imbalances going on, too!
