As I read and reflect on my own journey in this space, ive also come to a similar conclusion.
1) We are stuck in the diffusion chasm. The Diffusion Chasm, by Geoffrey Moore, in a nutshell explains why most technology fails to go from early adopters to early majority.
Blockchain and to a lesser degree web3 tools have been around since social media, smartphones and video streaming but still haven't been able to cross the chasm between early adopters to early majority. Why? Why have blockchain and web3 stalled, but various platforms of social media, smartphones and video streaming leaped over the chasm?
My research continues to point to how web3 and blockchain are framed. As
@itsbasil points out, this entire space is framed around economic incentives, the infrastructure is built to support a new financial system, so its naturally framed in this way. But this creates a catch 22 situation, where early majority only see the financial gains and losses. So what?
