A very big, small (~12lb) life update…
Last month, I became a dad!
The little lad is healthy and my wife Meela is recovering slowly but surely
No matter how many times I’ve tried to string them together, there just aren’t words to describe the experience — of witnessing the woman you love bring an impossibly tiny human being into this world, or any of the time since
While all is good, we had a couple complications that have called for me to take a bit more time than planned to be present for the fam. Thankfully things are improving and I’m hyped to get back to work in a more visible way and connect with friends here again
To everyone that’s reached out — thank you so much for the kind words and for thinking of us! I’m massively behind on DMs etc. and will do my best to get back to you all asap

Going to Marfa isn’t easy
It takes hours to figure out how to get there and where to stay
Before leaving home you wonder if you’ll fit in and if everyone there is gonna be hella nerdy
You have no idea what to expect but you decide to make the trek to find out what the hype is all about
The journey there is long, the road paved but unfamiliar. Occasionally you worry that you’ll get lost but signposts & tech guide the way
And then you arrive —
And you walk around and get to know the town and cohort of fellow enjoyoors
You quickly feel at ease, yet excited
Although you’ve never been here, this place somehow feels familiar - like you’ve waiting to arrive for longer than you realized
The people are for sure nerdy but they’re amazing and you fit in immediately. You also realize that you’re a nerd too and that this comes with great benefits + is cool
You thought it’d all be generative art, and much of it is and you love that, but you also can’t believe how much variety and subcultures & communities are represented too
You realize that friction + uncertainty is a beautiful kind of sort filter for events, people, culture, innovation, opportunities and many other things
You leave feeling optimistic about the space and grateful to be in it
When you get home you find that it’s very difficult to explain where you’ve been or why it was so special
But you don’t really feel the need to because somethings are so obvious that your gut tells you one day many more people will understand and think it’s dope you had that adventure early

Honestly wild how good the Farcaster wallet has gotten over the last few months
Find myself using it for many things in and outside of the app (mints, mini apps, swap across chains -> fund outside apps etc.)

I really don’t think we’re bullish enough
I’m honestly not sure if we can be
Too much ptsd and pattern matching old cycles that don’t fit into the present that well anymore
The promises of mass crypto integration & adoption, and favourable regulatory environments for innovation have never been better
Meanwhile, the value of the denominator has never been more suspect
There’s never been a better time to build in and with crypto
There’s never been a better time to be invested & actively investing in this industry
Society at large is at a tipping point in a search for new meaning & frameworks for building on
Digital art, culture, collectibles, communities and technologies that support them have never been more valuable, relevant or important
