there should be an on chain marketplace for private sales with built in escrow that's just the cost of gas for a smart contract with a dispute resolution surcharge and is linked into insurance databases to handle title transfer paperwork automatically
trying to use farcaster again, but the notification situation is making it very hard to stay here
with all push notification settings turned off in the app settings, I get about 40 NOTIFICATIONS PER DAY
none of this is dms or replies right now, as I haven't been casting lately
this is an insane amount of attention whoring that surely pushes normal users away
i am removing notif permissions completely, which means I'll probably miss DMs and replies even if I cast more, so I'm sorry if that happens
but the app itself is infested with all sorts of dark patterns and tbh it seems less worth using than ever
i haven't been on fc much lately but noticed when checking in today a bunch of topical political drama
on the one hand, it's the kind of destructive rhetoric that has made much of the Internet a hostile, angry place and i hate it
on the other hand, it's a sign of real humans bringing their real selves here, rather than a sterile web3 approved farming persona
so maybe in the same way decay and excrement is evidence of life, the political bullshit is a sign the platform is maturing?
