A few inconclusive thoughts on forking:
First, I'm nervous. Farcaster is my cozy corner, but it's been feeling increasingly fragile for a while now.
Second, I've long admired
@cassie, for Quilibrium, for her no-compromises position on privacy and decentralization, and for her principled refusal to take bad VC cash. I don't know her well, but she's always struck me as both brilliant and high integrity.
Third, I'm pulling for
@rish and the Neynar team to bring their "builder-first network" vision to life. It's an exciting vision! On a more personal level, Rish has been responsive and supportive when I've reached out for help and with requests, whether it's something mundane like billing or asking for signal boosts on my Farcaster-aligned projects.
Finally, I do hope that Farcaster — fork or otherwise — finds a way to win. A builder-first network is a future I'd like to see realized and a truly decentralized social network is a civilization-changing technology.
Naive or not, I'm still hoping I get both.
