Seeing the same faces on social media can also be a nice thing.

Farcaster / Clanker strategy: Run real marketing campaigns for all kinds of successful app(coin)s, get users to sign up for them, experiment with new ones, trade them & help builders retain users. In-app: wallet, notifications, channels, chats, app center with discovery and feed with frames. Outside: occassional tweets ? ☝🏻this pretty much describes farcaster. ANON could have been a big win for farcasters The Privacy topic literally got a new renaissance end of last year - just months after Anon had a great start and got abandoned. It hit in many interesting angles: Private comms, pseudo-anon comms, comms among token holders, distribution tool, posts measured on merit not account history ..

We live in a multi-currency world where every community can pick their favorite asset for exchange, for adding value to. I recommended small communities to experiment with their own asset and to use eth as LP pair for more stability & upside; now I‘d still regommend to Experiment with your own asset, adding utility, adding revenue streams and pairing the token to a liquid currency that is somewhat predictable (!), seems undervalued with upside, and has solid fundamentals (good Business, revenue, buybacks..). USDC is the boring Option that might just work in good and Bad times. Eth could be a bit better. Many of the other assets (top rev Assets, ecosystems) have more upside & more execution risk - and it would be best if you were able to react aka change the token pair if circumstances change.

Good tweet: Relevant for many platform, l1, l2, network teams and ofc higher - where every contributor, app, initiative should grow the network, TAM or higher token value. One thing has been very clear over my past 2 years here: Farcaster attracted very different crowds that occassionally have touchpoints and shared goals (Tokens, creative outbursts, crypto interest, a better social) but have significantly different primary interests in This Network. - a cozy place to hang (some og group?) - a truly decentralized social (eth/tech builder crowd) - a great crypto Social (tw abandoners) - a profitable trade (trencher) - a tech bubble & hobbyist platform (who exactly?) - a launchpad for a real business IMO it would be smart to enable each of those groups more with specific Features, and to better chat & grow their sub-community without forcing them into something they don‘t want (e.g. a Trading App) Clients, Channels, Chats are good tools for that. Other Features Like token gating, subchannels, etc. Could be helpful too. The Main Feed, Wallet, Apps, Highlight sections could be good Meeting Spots to interact with other bubbles - and result in magic collabs (but only if many people have a big enough reason (news, community, project, token) to come here Daily, and then check what others are up to)

Only if all of them launch via clanker and thereby make clanker the official token 😂

Twitter offers massive incentives to switch platforms from time to time showcasing platform risk, or by frustrating some user group - whether through a new feature or bad comms. Should have a plan to go hard and position your platform as legit, better alternative whenever that happens. Ps: Specific one-off onboarding events can have massive impact on user numbers.

Bitcoin was started as freedom tech to fight the banks, the state, the regulators and enable sovereign individuals with sovereign money. it almost achieved it, or maybe it got sold out and captured last minute? Crypto overall became a powerful tool to create new markets, launch magic internet money, coordinate various stakeholders .. but maybe its biggest opportunity is in fighting the powerful tech monopolies today? “Their margin is you opportunity”

Very interesting to see how many builders are in the game, jumping on trends, willing to launch tokens, rake in fees and abandon projects 2 days later. (Trench Traders search also for opportunities and most aren’t loyal but they take on insane risks; risks that are harder and harder to justify ..) I do think it’s absolutely necessary to have an urgency mindset, to jump on opportunities but you only build value via consistency, by building a startup, platform etc. Long-term - and you can still ride different waves with it. Showing no respect for token holders aka launching a “serious” token and quickly killing it for another opportunity or due to changed circumstances, should get you on a blacklist. And yes, you can still close chapters but do it gracefully considering different stakeholders (incl others than token holders) - if you accept money from others I do think that’s the least you can do.

Feels like farcaster is turning from Dan and Varun’s cool app that I was allowed to use towards an app that builds for its users or, more so, an ecosystem that collectively builds and pragmatically improves on various sides.

I needed that neynar feature a long time ago for my own casts which should rather be long form blogs. Maybe it’ll replace my lengthy casts at some point. Imagine if you could finetune your feed: give me a more concise version of each of the casts, leave out the frames.

Literally unfollowing people on Twitter now due to the spamming and launch of new Bankr /Clanker coins for agents, agent builders, memes. Yeah it’s cool we can onboard them, being aggressive with onboarding now makes economically sense - but at the same time the trading fees just go from the few active crypto users to random builders that on avg won’t put it back in or contribute meaningfully AND even more important is that they don’t get to pick the right economics for their agent, their own incentive alignment aka we’re setting many up for failure. Can be fixed, should be fixed fast. Except everyone is fine with those coins being memecoins and happy to trade them in 99% cases. There’s a few exceptions that are worth chasing and highlighting.

Enabling configurable filters for the feed can solve this for a while. Only show me posts from accounts with/which - Neynar score 0.9+ - token holdings > 1 clanker - accounts with 5+ mutuals - accounts older than x days - accounts vetted by app/user xyz - are not a shared blocklist - are in started package abc - are not posting the same frame, ai slop etc. aside giving real users and bots badges, status, filtering options you still need to enable accounts to get discovered better on the network (via apps, content discovery, recommendations) too. https://x.com/nikitabier/status/2021632774013432061?s=46
