Death Star
On April 8th, 2024 the skies darkened as the moon and sun seemed to collide.
This image was created using three different telescopes and multiple exposures to capture the colorful stars, the lunar surface, the sun's corona and solar prominences.
I wanted to capture the beauty of the rare event as well as the vastness and depth of space. The muted tones of the moon and corona are meant to bring out the bright, colorful stars and burning solar flares.
