As part of falling out of love with crypto and exploring learning a real job... since many audiologists are in-house with opticians, I figured, I might as well hit those up too :'D And well.. eye sight matters quite a bit to me too considering how much I read language, and score so - I got a casual chat with one next week. He seemed slightly confused why someone with such a "international, digital" career would want to do hands-on work but I think that's exactly why. I mean the only things that'd happen if I advance in the current trajectory would be... constantly being in meetings. Cause somehow that's what happens to all my friends in leadership positions ^^

Volunteered as a stage manager (opening and closing stage door and keeping an eye on the teens, ensure everyone knows when to go out etc) for the plucked string orchestras concert this weekend. Earned myself a beautiful bouquet instead of relying on a guy to give me on 😂 (jokes aside, I didn't even expect one, it was a fun thing to support)

Work might suck but then I remind myself that at least I get to experience real community. My elderly neighbor who's also a camera nerd gifted me pics of our new neighbor and drove me to music rehearsal when it was pouring. Such small things make me less depressed about the state of the world.

FC still my safe place to vent. As much as I pride myself on being a self-reliant, empowered woman, these crypto projects are really pushing me to the edge of longing for a provider husband so I don't have to put up with shit like that. I know financial dependence isn't aspirational - but neither is hearing "if you don't go out raise funds for [moonshot idea] you are funemployed in two weeks."

Whenever we had new tech making stuff easier, expectations heightened. The introduction of cleaning devices meant we started having higher demands on cleanliness of homes. The introduction of email meant we had to write more emails than we had ever written letters. Instant messaging on all our devices = never being actually disconnected from work. Is just the same dynamic dialled up further. I watched some interior video essay the other day saying, hey frame whatever personal stuff you want. And honestly, this is great advice.

When I was going on first dates, I omitted the industry I worked in because I grew tired of having to argue that I wasn't a scammer or in cahoots with all those criminals. And that even when the other was an investment banker or management consultant, which I personally consider to be a scam too.😭 😂

I am back to pondering changing careers and learning a real job. The current choice is: audiologist. Sounds random, but actually, as a music lover, a person with empathy, and experience in marketing to degen/younger crowds who probably ruined their hearing with techno, I might be able to make the argument to the agency for work to finance me the training needed. :'D Plus it seems more future-proof than writing in an industry in which you are constantly told "oh AI can just do that".

Spending my Friday eve watching leftist video essays. In a milder version, similar happened in East Germany where the privatization meant that most of the productive companies and assets were seized by West German "oligarchs", leaving East Germans disenfranchised and surely not surprisingly they make up a large share of those leaning very right these day. One "positive" side effect of the communist everyone should work ethic is that older East German women are less likely to end up in poverty than their West German counterparts nowadays, mostly because the latter barely had a career.
