To note, all of said “journalists” have proven record of being Hamas operatives.
Anas Al sharif was a rocket squad commander in the northern Gaza battalion.
Wandering the playa after losing my friends. A surreal quiet between distant beats. I was lost when stumbled across this glowing sign in the dark:
“Everything you need is inside you.”
It stopped me. I went over to the sign. As I was admiring it a couple came by. One of them said it’s a brilliant photo and if they he can take a picture. I said only one!
This is one of just two serendipitous photos I have from that entire burn.
And somehow, it says everything.
Years later, it still echoes
You don’t need to go looking anywhere else. You already have it all.
Wrote something that’s been on my mind for a while:
One of the biggest challenges for Web3 founders isn’t the tech, it’s getting users, and we've made very little progress in "performace marketing"
1. Users from around the world are lumped into one cluster. A US user ≠ a user from India or Indonesia. A US user is worth 10x more in both intent & $$$.
2. No access to Web2 ad rails: Locked out of the trillion-dollar Web2 ad machine, as its either classified as “gambling”, or simply because most people view crypto ads as scams.
3. No real KPIs: We don't know what to optimize for? MAW? TVL?, wallet gas spend? none these map to long-term value. Just noise.
4. Airdrops are the perfect shitstorm, taking all the worst parts of the above: No idea who the users are. No system to retain or re-engage. No clue what metric to optimize toward.
Farcaster could actually be the ad infra. But we must figure out the right KPIs, then optimize funnels, and finally talk CAC vs LTV like grownups.
I'm very excited to host Eric Weinstein at Building blocks :)
As someone who’s been following Eric’s work for several years, I’m looking forward to hearing his unique perspective on the intersection of Geopolitics, the future of tech, and crypto.
