Since 2020, I’ve only made big gains in crypto during two periods: May 2020–May 2021 and Jan 2023–Apr 2024. Jesse’s token launch is pure humiliation for Base. Someone bragged nonstop about “Base app even if X goes down,” then launches his own token by posting the CA on X first… and only later on the Base app. I grabbed the CA and still couldn’t find it or swap it in the Base app — completely broken UX. If the founder of Base can’t even launch his own token properly or prioritize his own product, let’s be honest — that’s not “a builder,” that’s an embarrassment.

The way Jesse launched this token is one of the biggest jokes — no, full-blown disasters — in the entire history of the Base ecosystem. A so-called “founder of Base” managed to turn a simple token launch into a clown-level embarrassment. He posts the CA on X first, and only 17 minutes later posts it on the Base app? Just days ago someone was bragging nonstop:“Even if X goes down, Base App can still publish normally.” And now? When it’s his own token launch, he’s the first one to slap himself in the face. And the funniest — no, the most pathetic — part? After I got the CA, I went to the Base App to search it. And guess what? It doesn’t show up. At all. Not even in Swap. That search box might as well be a decorative piece of trash. Tell me, what is this? A “world-class founder”? An “ecosystem leader”? Someone who “builds seriously”? No. This is a walking disaster with zero respect for user experience. The founder of Base launches a token… Not post first on his own app. Not supported in his own ecosystem first. And his own Swap can’t even find the damn token for several minutes. This is beyond embarrassing — It’s incompetence boiled down into pure humiliation. A complete disgrace to the title “Founder of Base.”

Today marks one month since the 10/11 liquidation crash — the largest in crypto history. According to CoinGlass, over $19 billion in derivatives positions were liquidated that day — a figure so massive it would shake any financial market. Yet this number is likely understated. Exchanges like Binance and OKX cap their liquidation APIs to one report per second, even during extreme volatility. In reality, thousands of positions were wiped out simultaneously. The true figure was likely $40–60 billion. After 10/11, market liquidity was devastated. Even for BTC — the most liquid asset — order book depth dropped ~40% and hasn’t recovered. Major market makers suffered heavy losses, leading to thinner books and weaker market resilience. We had no time to mourn. Within minutes, major altcoins like SUI plunged up to 80%, some over 95%, even to zero. Most altcoin liquidity relies on algorithmic market makers. When volatility spiked, MM systems hit circuit breakers — canceling all orders and halting trading. It revealed just how fragile altcoin liquidity truly is. Forced ADL (Auto-Deleveraging) cascades followed: systems matched liquidated long and short positions in a desperate attempt to contain contagion. As Wintermute reported: “Many institutional positions were force-closed at irrational prices. In one case, our short position was closed at $5 when the market price was $1 — completely illogical and impossible to hedge.” So who should be held responsible? Or perhaps, no one ever will be.
