This is my cat Tyson and his story.
In the spring of 2022, the war began in Ukraine.
Millions of people were forced to leave their homes, many fleeing abroad.
What became a tragedy for people also became a tragedy for pets.
While trying to save their own lives, many had to leave their cats and dogs behind, simply letting them out onto the streets. Not everyone could take them when escaping the country.
At my summer house in the suburbs, during the first months of the war,
I started seeing domestic, purebred dogs and cats wandering the streets.
People would bring them there and release them, hoping someone would take them in.
These animals were not prepared for such a life -
they didn’t know how to find food, and many of them died very quickly.
One day, a domestic cat came to me.
She was pregnant and gave birth to three wonderful kittens.
The mother cat and two of the kittens were killed after another shelling of our residential area.
Only one survived - the one in the center.
I named him Tyson🥰
He’s a real fighter,
and now he’s the most important member of our family🐾
