"Life wasn't always easy in fact there were many bumps in the road." Hiccups she would call them. "And just like hiccups you take a deep breath, concentrate and work hard at it the hiccups will go away. Just never give up!" "Respect each other, don't assume anything of each other, never go to bed angry or go out the door angry." Such wise words! These two love birds celebrated 58 years of marriage together. I caught this adorable inter action between the two of them. As they gazed into eachothers eyes, she caresses his cheek as he kisses her thumb. On her index finger she wears an infinity ring. This was their last vacation together, the last time we would be all together as a family. Yes this is my mother and father. She got sick in September - It was cancer that came back. She was a cancer survivor from the early 70's. She had a radical Mastectomy. This time she couldn't beat it. A month after she got sick, a short seven months to the day I took this photo in (March or 2014), she passed away in October to become another star in the sky. Dad could never get over losing "the love of my life for 58 years."
For the next five years dad celebrated their anniversary alone, sad and empty. He did his best to be strong for us even as his health was failing, we told him it was ok to leave this world and be with his love. Dad left this earth November 2019 to dance once again with mom.
I was so privileged to experience this type of love - The love of a lifetime.
The blockchain has given me the opportunity to share their love and keep their memory alive forever.
