Shikata Ga Nai
(Any views expressed in the below are the personal views of the author and should not form the basis for making investment decisions, nor be construed as a recommendation or advice to engage in investment transactions.) I have just finished the first book, “Red Mars,” in a trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson. One of the characters, a Japanese scientist named Hiroko Ai, routinely utters “shikata ga nai” or “it cannot be helped” when referring to situations out of the Mars colonists’ control. As I ...

You WILL go Crazy during the Bitcoin Bull Market
The Bitcoin bull market is unlike anything you will have ever experienced before. It can completely transform lives financially in an incredibly short period but can destroy them even quicker. That is only the half of it. There has long been a theory amongst Bitcoiners that it will eventually cause one of the largest transfers of wealth that the world has ever seen. They believe that the people who’ve been investing in it consistently will be greatly rewarded. And those who haven’t will end u...

zkLink Nova Launches Mainnet, The First ZK Stack-Based Aggregated Layer 3 Rollup
In an unprecedented leap forward for the blockchain industry, zkLink is proud to announce the public mainnet launch of zkLink Nova, the industry’s first Aggregated Layer 3 zkEVM rollup network based on zkSync’s ZK Stack & zkLink Nova. zkLink Nova unifies liquidity and assets from Ethereum and Layer 2 rollups onto one interoperable platform, providing developers with a zkEVM-compatible decentralized application (dApp) deployment through the ZK Stack Hyperchain. Being an Aggregated Layer 3 Roll...

Does the universe work like a TARDIS?
I’m not sure where it came from originally. This one was posted by the prolific Cliff Pickover without credit. The interesting thing about this problem is that, as the description says, it can be solved with only a pre-schooler’s knowledge. The apparent complexity hides a deeper simplicity that tricks a more educated person into trying all kinds of arthimetic and cyphers to solve it. After solving it myself in about 5–10 minutes, showing just how childlike I am, I gave this problem to each of...

The True Architect of the Big Bang Theory
“There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don’t know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don’t know we don’t know.” — DONALD RUMSFELDInearly 1916, Einstein presented his new theory of gravity, his life’s biggest breakthrough. It successfully explained the notions of space, and time, and how matter interacts and evolves in the universe. However, if the question of a complete d...
