“I want to give you something, or I want to take something from you. But I want to feel the exchange, the warm hand on the shoulder, the song coming out and the ear holding onto it.”
I love instrumental music. When I close my eyes and just let my body and mind loosen up, the music pulls me in so quietly. It feels like a soft, slow kind of dance, letting the layers of sound wrap around me and going wherever the rhythm wants to take me. It’s just my way of feeling the moment and flowing with it.
These moments are too intense to put into words. Even if I tried, the feelings would never fit. And I love getting lost in that.
Silent empathy: the ability to feel and understand another person’s emotion without words, and to let them feel your presence
Sometimes just sitting next to someone who’s hurting, without filling the silence, says more than anything you could say aloud
“...the longing and the desire to be heard and seen do not die: in the reopening of fragments of dialogue that can help us keep living, beyond the unspeakable fatigue of being alive...”
