Just reading the tea leaves here, perhaps it hints at addressing crypto's reputational problem, something that I've long wished for the EF to do.
Crypto can do so much good for the Internet and for world, but its reputational baggage makes it a non-starter.
This impacts talent flow, awareness within decision-making bodies where integration would make sense, mass adoption, etc.
Perhaps V's recent attendance of RWC is related?
