Listening to a 45+ old dude sell some sort of TRT or peptides to another guy at a coffee shop is hilarious.
"Lot of science".
"Overclock the cell system".
It's endearing that the snake oil salesman is alive and well in America.
I usually buy books and won't read them for several months until they fit my mood.
Past me always finds future me incredible books.
Last night, I read a book I picked up about the industrial revolution three months ago.
Today, I wrote a blog:
https://pinata.cloud/blog/the-division-of-cognition/
Having ran Pinata since 2018, my biggest question I ask myself when interacting with others is how they can understand something if they haven't felt the consequences of their earlier decisions?
Startups that pivot early, corporate climbers that job hop, etc.
Almost 8 years in, I've felt the pain of earlier decision making that took 5 years to come home to roost.
If you pivot in 6 months in or job hop within 2 years, the consequences of your decision making lands on someone else and you don't get the benefit of learning from your mistakes.
Wisdom is hard earned by experiencing things overtime.
My theory is that people aren't being "one shotted" per se, they are just getting displaced from mainstream rhetoric we follow as a social species.
This displacement is caused by mostly talking to the AI which is allowing them to chase their own thoughts and ideas without much social pressure.
The lack of social pressure drives them towards ideas that they may not have had the confidence to surface in an in-person or online situation.
With the confidence building voice that AI provides out of the box, they then post their thoughts and find out that they are relatively displaced from where they thought everyone else would be.
In a way, AI strips away being "in-the-know" socially because you are no longer social signaling.
