If you're around NYC, The @objktcom Pop-up Show with @unfoldhere is happening next Wednesday, the 26th, during NFT NYC. 'Les couleurs de ma mélancolie' will be among the pieces selected by the objkt curators. And if you’ve got some spare tezzies and want a copy, there are still 8 out of 10 available here, uncut 4k with music and stuff:

A small WIP of a fragment for a piece I'm working on. Everything is 3D geometry in the form of a pin screen, with no post-production and using the original sound.
A bit of context for the original source material:
Nov 22, 1987. Chicago. Doctor Who is airing. Suddenly, the screen melts into noise. A man in a Max Headroom mask appears. He mutters gibberish, mocks Coca-Cola, moans, then bends over to be spanked with a flyswatter. The station can’t stop it.
The signal was overtaken using DIY tech, bypassing pro-level systems. No clear message, just chaos, distortion, and VHS noise. 35+ years later, the Max Headroom incident remains one of the eeriest unsolved moments in TV history.
I rarely talk about what’s behind my work. it’s more comfortable to let it speak for itself or simply say nothing. So, I’m going to take a risk and start a series of casts called "What the Hell Was I Thinking When I Created This Animation?" 😅
"Interzone" 🔊 is a small reflection of one of my favorite scifi novels and the nightmare of any psychologist: 'Solaris' by Stanislaw Lem, adapted into film twice: the masterful version by Andrei Tarkovsky and the underrated more recent version by Steven Soderbergh. In a way, the flow beneath the bridge in "Interzone" is meant to evoke the conscious ocean of Solaris, as a form of collective mind accompanying humans who cross the bridge together, all walking in the same direction. This is how we grow, how we progress as a species. As a counterpoint to the current trend toward individualism, where only I, my own satisfaction, and the immediate present matter.
Unfortunately, sometimes the result doesn’t turn out the way you had in mind. Creating the pin screen was fun and, I think, has potential, but the final render isn’t worth much in my opinion. Placing the camera vertically over the screen doesn’t help, since in the end I could have done almost the same with a couple of effects in DaVinci Resolve without all the hassle. That said, no one can take away the fun I had.
I've been wanting to make a pin screen with Blender for a while. I have a toy one, and it's a lot of fun. A few days ago, I saw a video on BlenderNation of someone who made one using Geometry Nodes, and I decided to get to work on my own. There are still some details to refine, but it was surprisingly easy to make.
When I finished it in late 2023, my biggest regret was having to use a Creative Commons recording of Tchaikovsky’s music ("The Sick Doll" from Children’s Album) bc I didn’t have the skills to create it myself. Now (kind of) I do, and with the sheet music in hand, I’ve completely redone it to my liking. 🥳 While I was at it, I tweaked the color a bit, added some grain, and a few more details. Now it’s truly finished, and I absolutely love how it turned out. Learning new skills is a blessing.
'Kernel Panic'
I’m just some guy who tells stories through 3D animation using only 100% recycled electrons, 90% AI Free and 0% sugar.
I do the sims, the animation, the music, and all the chaotic stuff myself.
Trends? Couldn’t care less. Too dark? Good.
Writing 'follow to follow' in your bio is probably the worst way to get someone to follow you. And if it’s paired with generic content, lifeless AI-generated images made in two seconds, stock food photos, and similar nonsense then you’ve really outdone yourself. Put in a bit of effort, it won’t kill you.
The 'Turing Police' 🔊 exist to ensure AI doesn’t get too smart. If your coffee machine begins questioning the nature of consciousness, don’t worry. They’ll be there, 24/7 always ready to pull the plug. 🔌
What makes art good are the problems, facing them and finding solutions.
Exhausted, sleep-deprived, with a bad back and a half broken piano to top it off, that’s how Keith Jarrett IMPROVISED the magnificent Köln Concert.
