Griffon Brewing - Pier Pressure
I haven’t really been venturing from usual rotation of beers lately but this right here is probably one of the best locally made IPAs I’ve had in years.
An 8% west coast IPA with Columbus, Centennial, Cascade and Simcoe hops, it brings back memories of what craft beer was before we decided we didn’t want to see through our IPAs.
So much resiny goodness packed in a 16oz can. Highly recommend if you’re in WNY.
Did you know today is National Pierogi Day?!
I’ve been living the Pieroguy life officially for 20 years now after my dad decided he wanted to start back up the family tradition for the holidays.
What started as a fun family tradition, spiraled into a borderline obsession of trying to outdo myself. To date, I’ve done somewhere around 75 different variations and around an average of 150 dozen per year over the last 20 years.
Here’s to the next 20 years.

I’ve been pretty low the past 3-4 months, dealing with some health issues, panic attacks and crazy anxiety. Add money concerns and social battery burnout to that and it hasn’t been fun.
Had a second interview go really well at a potential positive career change today and am really hoping for a win.
Been a while since I’ve shared some delicious pierogi content so might as well smother and cover it.
Sausage Biscuits Gravy & Egg Pierogi
Sausage, Egg , Country Gravy filling in a biscuit dough. Not going to find these at Cracker Barrel but I’m sure that old man in the logo would enjoy them.
Nobody asked for it and maybe it shouldn’t exist but I made it anyway.
Beanie Weenie Pierogi
Inspired by the quick and easy meal of parents on the go, it’s hot dogs and bbq beans stuff in pierogi dough. Simple, quick and surprisingly a lot better than I was expecting it to be.
Who says your daily hot dog intake needs to be on a bun?
I hope pro wrestling talk grows here eventually but please don’t let it reach anywhere near the toxic levels it is on X.
That said, the card for SummerSlam Night 2 is stacked and should have a few surprises.
Making SummerSlam a 2 Night Event definitely gives it a bigger feel. Opening with Reigns shows they aren’t messing around and want people to take it seriously.
The NFL season started and pierogi are perfect for it because they’re basically kind of shaped like footballs. These are especially perfect because they combine all the fun sports foods:
Bologna Cheese Pretzel Pierogi
Fried bologna and onions with beer cheese for the filling in a pretzel pierogi dough. Serve with more beer cheese or mustard and boom, these are gone before halftime.
Beer cheese for these was made from scratch with Great Lakes Brewing Elliot Ness Amber Lager.
