TIL, didn't know this fact about Lincoln (I realize that the parties were quite different back then). Have always been intrigued by the idea of a 'unity ticket', especially in today's divisive political landscape. Not sure it could work but one can dream! There's a ticket today, No Labels, but had never heard of them previously, plus they're only on 16 state ballots.
An interesting (and underrated) way of seeing ‘on the ground coverage’ are the public stories on Snapchat via the map.
It’s fascinating getting a direct look into people prepping for the storm, and others just going about their daily lives like it’s a normal day.
