Humanity News
On May 28th, Humanity Protocol announced the upcoming launch of its first Fairdrop incentive, aimed at ensuring distribution only to real users through its Proof-of-Humanity (PoH) technology. Users can simply visit the testnet, connect their wallets, and complete individual steps to participate.
On the same day, Humanity announced that it would allocate 0.2% (USD 2.2 million) of its H tokens to the Kaito AI ecosystem, to be fully distributed among KAITO stakers and Humanity Yappers.
WorldCoin’s Epic Rival: Humanity Protocol
Humanity Protocol is an anti-sybil blockchain network, essentially a blockchain identity verification project focusing on decentralized identity (DID) services. It uses palm print recognition technology to ensure user authenticity and can be easily accessed via smartphones to establish proof of humanity in Web3 applications. This approach not only enhances security but also addresses identity verification and impersonation issues present in traditional systems.
Just a month ago, Humanity Protocol announced that its Token Generation Event (TGE) is imminent. Founder and CEO Terence Kwok revealed that the team has recently focused on technological development, partnerships, and the deployment of global scanning devices, now entering the launch phase of the H token.
Core Advantages of Humanity
Web3 currently faces numerous challenges, and Humanity Protocol is committed to addressing sybil attacks, centralization drawbacks, privacy, and identity issues. Palm print recognition, compared to other biometric methods like facial recognition, offers several advantages:
Secure Digital Identity: Through Humanity Protocol, you can prove "you are who you say you are" without exposing personal information, thanks to its core Proof-of-Humanity (PoH) mechanism.
Data Sovereignty: Over 4 million Human IDs have been created on the testnet, giving users full control over their data. Users decide when, where, and how their information is used.
Economic Incentives: Early participants have the opportunity to gain future tokens or other incentives, such as the Fairdrop event mentioned earlier.
Building Web3 Infrastructure: Humanity Protocol covers multiple areas of Web3. Its H economic model supports the operation of a large-scale decentralized identity verification infrastructure.
Fair Ecosystem: By resisting sybil attacks and partnering with Polygon Labs, Animoca Brands, and others, Humanity Protocol helps create a more fair and transparent Web3 ecosystem.
Humanity Team
Led by a AAA-tier team, including founders from Polygon and Animoca Brands and the former CEO of Digg, Humanity Protocol is founded by tech entrepreneur Terence Kwok and advised by industry leaders such as Yat Siu and Sandeep Nailwal:
Terence Kwok: Founder and CEO, previously the founder of Tink Labs. He leads the team in solving digital identity issues using blockchain technology and founded Tink Labs in 2012.
Bijan: Chief Product Officer, formerly a senior product manager at Livepeer. He graduated from the University of Toronto.
João Machado: Head of Marketing and Growth, also the founder of Savearth, a Web3 builder and consultant specializing in business strategy, growth, and marketing.
Humanity Financing
To date, Humanity has completed three rounds of fundraising, supported by Pantera, Hashed, and others, with the latest valuation reaching $1 billion.
Humanity Summary
Although Terence Kwok did not disclose the exact date of the TGE, the "imminent" announcement has sparked considerable discussion. Its vision of creating a future where users truly own their digital identities aligns closely with the decentralization principles of Web3. With the TGE approaching and the launch of the H token, Humanity Protocol is emerging as a strong competitor in the identity verification space alongside Worldcoin.
