The largest fish in the world is the whale shark (Rhincodon typus), which can reach a length of up to 12-18 meters and weigh more than 20 tons. Whale sharks live in tropical and subtropical waters around the world and are carnivorous fish, feeding on small fish, shrimp and crabs. They are not aggressive towards people and are often found during diving and snorkeling.
