DFINITY has launched the Beta version of IC (Internet Computer) that is directly integrated with the Bitcoin network. This version does not require a third-party cross-chain bridge, and can provide smart contract functions for Bitcoin on the IC. Developers can already use the integrated API for testing. DFINITY said that in the future, ckBTC, a Bitcoin-encapsulated asset, will be introduced, which can be circulated on IC at low cost.
