A pyramid is a polygonal pyramidal structure consisting of triangular or quadrangular faces converging at a single point - a vertex. Pyramids were widely used in ancient times for funeral rites, as well as temples and places of worship. The most famous pyramids are the Egyptian pyramids, such as the Pyramid of Cheops in Giza.
