Over the past few weeks, the Studio Cafe has shifted from concept into something tangible. Walls, workflows, furnishings, and systems are no longer abstract ideas—they’re decisions being locked, materials being sourced, and timelines tightening as we move toward opening.
Last week, we met with Kyle Arneson to dive deep into the design of the space: the cafe and the public facing production studio with a live stop motion animation set. The goal has always been to create a space that feels like a living, breathing work of art you step into without feeling precious—a place that can hold espresso machines and dough mixers just as naturally as lights, cameras, and conversation. We want real candy and eye candy all up in here.
The cafe side is being designed as a warm, functional gathering space—durable, inviting, and built for daily use by people who spend their lives making things. The studio side pushes in a complementary direction: a flexible live set that can host animators telling stories everyday without ever feeling like a separate or hidden room. The vibe is effortless, creative flow: Coffee, ideas, production, and community, all sharing the same roof.

As design decisions finalize, we’re simultaneously moving into the practical phase: custom furnishings are being built, and our equipment and inventory list is now nearly locked—from espresso machines and grinders to baking equipment, service ware, and the essentials needed to open the doors with confidence. These are the last big pieces that bridge vision and operation.
Funding Through Participation, Not Speculation
Our NFT collection plays a central role in bringing the Studio Cafe to life beyond our initial foundational support from Base. Rather than treating the collection as a one-time raise, we’ve structured it as a continuation of support all the way through opening day.

The 1/1 collection from the All You Need Is One ad for the Base App lives here:

Each mint contributes directly to build-out, equipment, and inventory, while $FUSE and $STOPMO transaction fees help sustain the raise over time. It’s a way to keep participation active, reward early and ongoing supporters, and invite people closer to the Studio Cafe from its very origin.
This approach reflects how we want the space to function long-term: built with community, not layered on top of it as an afterthought.
Looking Ahead
We’re officially setting our soft opening for February 13th, which also marks the one-year anniversary of Flannel Donut. It feels right to open the doors on this day, with the momentum we already have.
There’s still work to do—but it’s the good kind. The kind where progress shows up in sketches becoming sawdust, lists becoming deliveries, and ideas turning into rooms you can become inspired by.
We’re getting closer every day. Feb 13, 2026 belongs to all of us. See you opening day!
Be sure to subscribe to follow along on progress and our many adventures in stop motion animation!

Welcome to effortless, creative flow: Coffee, ideas, production, and community, all sharing the same roof. Step inside the process right here:
This is how I want to spend my time with the baselifestyle I posted lately. A One complete building for builders.
