Ryan babineaux and John klenberg jointly offered a very popular course at Stanford University: "make mistakes quickly, and often fail.". After interviewing thousands of people, they found that people who dare to try and often make mistakes will benefit a lot from unexpected experiences and opportunities. The sooner you fail at the beginning, the more likely you are to become the final winner. This sounds counter intuitive, but entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley have long been accustomed to this phenomenon and call it "failforward" - that is, you should fail as soon as possible and find out what doesn't work at the lowest cost. Therefore, they always make a product prototype to market first, and then improve it according to the feedback of customers, rather than locking themselves in the laboratory until they make a perfect product. The well-known Pixar Animation Studio is also a good example of learning from rapid failure. When Pixar started making animation, the creative team had to eliminate thousands of half baked ideas and modify the script thousands of times to get a satisfactory result. Because they allow themselves to make mistakes in the early stage until they get it right, they can eliminate bad ideas and continue to refine what they have. Many people often hesitate under the excuse of "the time has not come", and dare not give a go and try bravely. But it's actually fear, lack of confidence, and fear of making mistakes. This book is an action manual for all those who are afraid of failure. This book proposes nine good ways to grow quickly from mistakes. You will be surprised to find that as long as you take challenges as opportunities to learn and grow, messing up things is not the worst thing. The key is to move forward in failure, not backward.
Do more things you think are interesting to be happy Don't think you'll find it interesting only if you meet some arbitrary standards. Do something interesting today and do it again and again. This is the way to happiness.
Try with an attitude of quick failure and frequent mistakes Take action as soon as possible and expect setbacks when you learn to master the trick. Look for opportunities to push yourself, so that you can know where your limits are.
Be curious about everything Don't worry about making a long-term commitment. Be curious about how things work and dabble in them.
Don't choose a job or career before you first meet Society expects you to tell your profession when you are still in school. This is too much. Don't over plan or make commitments. Just be prepared to try different jobs.
Have ambitions and dreams, but try to start small It's great to dream big - don't limit your dreams, but know what you must do at this moment to move forward. Make some progress every day.
Create value for your life and the world with innovation Create value by doing something different every day. Seize those opportunities enthusiastically and find new experiences to enjoy.
Think less and try more to overcome over analysis It's helpful to analyze everything carefully, but only when you really do it can you accumulate benefits. Be bold and take actions that will make a difference. Think less and do more.
Stop resisting and start doing it, and you will feel better When you engage in exciting things, learn new things, and completely immerse yourself in new events, energy will spring out. Put aside your doubts and let go.
Get help from friends, mentors, and others If you study the life of successful people, they don't fight alone. They have a group of people who can seek help and establish good relationships with many people.
