Many people don't know that Spielberg, a famous American director, had a strange experience in his childhood, which had a great impact on his life. Spielberg was an orphan and was sent to an orphanage. The orphanage has a rule: every child here should be physically punished once a day. There is no choice, but you can choose when to be beaten - after getting up in the morning, at noon or before going to bed at night. All children choose to postpone the time of being beaten as much as possible, and finally postpone it until before going to bed at night. Only one child chose to be beaten after getting up in the morning. This person is Spielberg. Spielberg's idea is that this fight is inevitable anyway, so it's better to be beaten early than late. If he gets beaten in the morning, he doesn't have to worry, and he can spend the rest of the day easily. And those children who have been delaying the time of being beaten have been worried about being beaten since they got up in the morning. They haven't had a good day. At night, they still can't escape the beating. I don't know how Spielberg looked at life later. In my opinion, this story reflects an attitude towards life, and choice is an ability. Suffering is an inevitable part of life. Just like the children sent to the orphanage, as long as we enter life, we have no choice - we can't choose not to suffer, we can only choose the attitude of suffering, escape or face. Human nature has an instinct, which is to escape. Even if suffering is inevitable, I still want to delay as much as possible, but let the enjoyable parts of life also permeate with worry. But there is also a direct trend in human nature, which allows people's eyes to go beyond the shelter of suffering and open up more space for themselves to grow. Such people will always choose to deal with the hardships of life in a more mature way. These two different attitudes towards life are based on different understandings of life. One kind of understanding is that life is difficult, and life is inevitably painful. Another understanding is that life is easy, and life must be happy. People who hold the former outlook on life have a real understanding of life and are prepared for life. They are willing and able to bear the hardships of life and try to create happiness and meaning in suffering. People with the latter outlook on life will refuse to accept the difficulties and setbacks in life. They complain and avoid, but they can't escape. Instead, they make their lives very unhappy and feel that life is meaningless. Even some people who insist on being happy all the time in life develop psychological symptoms. Suffering is the same, but the meaning of suffering is different. This different choice and attitude will be revealed at a very young age. Among the children in the orphanage, Spielberg showed his maturity. Based on this, he chose a more mature and full life.
