Nottingham Forest finally found their spark in Europe last night, defeating Portuguese giants FC Porto 2–0 at the City Ground. It was a night of relief and revival for Sean Dyche’s side, who had struggled to find form in recent weeks.
Morgan Gibbs-White opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 19th minute after a handball inside the area, before Igor Jesus sealed the victory with a second spot-kick late in the game.
The win ended Forest’s winless streak and breathed new life into their Europa League campaign, earning roaring applause from the home supporters. Dyche hailed the performance as a “statement of intent,” as Forest now eye qualification to the knockout stages.
