Your Simple Guide to Creating a Trust Wallet
Welcome! Creating a crypto wallet is like getting your own digital safe and key. Trust Wallet makes this very easy and secure. Let's get started.
Step 1: Download the App
• Go to the Apple App Store (for iPhones) or the Google Play Store (for Android phones).
• In the search bar, type "Trust Wallet".
• Look for the app with this logo and make sure the developer is "Trust Wallet". Download and install it.
> Important: Only download the official app from these stores to avoid scams.
Step 2: Create a New Wallet
Once the app is installed, open it.
• You will see two options: "Create a New Wallet" and "I already have a wallet".
• Tap on "Create a New Wallet".
You will then see a screen about their terms. Read it if you like, then agree to them to continue.
Step 3: The Most Important Step: Your Recovery Phrase
This is the most critical part. Pay close attention.
• The app will show you 12 random words in a specific order. This is your "Recovery Phrase" or "Seed Phrase".
• Think of these 12 words as the ONE AND ONLY MASTER KEY to your entire wallet. Anyone who has these words can access and take your funds.
▎What to do with these words:
1. Write Them Down: Get a pen and paper. Do not take a screenshot or type them on your computer. Physically write them down on paper.
2. Check the Order: Double-check that you have written all 12 words in the exact same order as shown on the screen.
3. Keep it Safe Secret: Store this paper in a very safe place, like a locked drawer or a safe. Never share these words with anyone. After you have written them down, tap the button to continue.
Step 4: Confirm Your Recovery Phrase
The app needs to make sure you wrote the words down correctly.
• It will show you a list of words and ask you to tap them in the correct order.
• Select the words in the exact same order you wrote them down.
• Once you've selected all 12 correctly, you will confirm it.
Congratulations! Your wallet is now created and secure.
Step 5: You're In! (A Quick Tour)
You will now see the main screen of your wallet.
• Tokens: You'll see a list of cryptocurrencies (like Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB). It's empty now because it's a new wallet!
• Receive: When you want someone to send you crypto, you tap this button to get your wallet address.
• Send: When you want to send crypto to someone, you tap this button.
• NFTs: This is where your digital collectibles (NFTs) will appear.
• DApps: This is a browser to explore the world of Web3 and DeFi.
*Your Security Checklist* (Please Read!)
To keep your funds safe forever, remember these 3 golden rules:
1. NEVER Share Your Recovery Phrase: Trust Wallet staff will NEVER ask for it. No legitimate company or person will. Anyone who asks for it is a scammer.
2. Keep Your Paper Backup Safe: Don't lose that piece of paper! If you lose your phone, this is the only way to recover your wallet.
3. Beware of Scams: Be careful with links in emails or DMs. Always double-check addresses when sending crypto.
You've done it! You now have your own secure crypto wallet. It might feel new, but you've taken the biggest and most important step. Welcome to the world of Web3
