**Snapshot**Introduction

Snapshot is a platform for no-gas on-chain voting. This platform is used by communities of various crypto projects to make decisions by proving the number of tokens or NFTs in the wallet at a certain point in time.

Simply put, having tokens of a project, you own the right to participate in its development, that is, you can vote for or against any proposal put forward by the project. The more tokens you have on your balance, the greater your voting power.

Not all projects have the resources to create their own DAO voting platform, so many of them use Snapshot for this. At the moment, it has no competition and is developing quite actively.

Investments:

The project raised $4 million in the seed round. The lead investor was 1kx, and among the large funds you can see Coinbase Ventures, Starkware, Gnosis and a couple of other little-known ones. Despite small investments, the project is large, I would even say infrastructural, and is in great demand among various defi, as well as L2 projects. There will most likely be more rounds of funding, since the largest tier1 funds that did not participate in the seed round are subscribed to the project's twitter.

Thoughts:

We all remember one of the retrodrop criteria from Optimism, who gave away ~$400 for voting on a Snapshot on the Ethereum network. At the moment, there are many projects that can reward us for this activity, but Snapshot itself can also reward us. This is one of those projects where we kill several birds with one stone, claiming several potential retrodrops and boosting our on-chain activity.

** How to participate?**

1.Foreword

• Before you can vote in any projects, you need to have a certain amount of specific tokens or NFTs on your wallet balance.

What we really need is the activity itself, so the total purchase doesn't really matter, but I'd start from about $1-2 at a minimum;

• You don't need to participate in all of the projects featured here. You can choose those you like or those, whose tokens you already have. Defer to your abilities to deposit in making decisions;

• The main projects on Ethereum: (Choosing 1-2 is enough, the expenses are about $~15-25 per project, try to get a low Gas Fee)

• Uniswap

• AAVE

• Curve

• 1inch

• ENS

• Gitcoin

• Projects in other networks:

• Stargate (Possible drop from LayerZero);

• GMX (The largest Defi on the Arbitrum network);

• Sismo (Badges for achievements);

• Shell Protocol (Liquidity pools + dex on Arbitrum, the drop confirmed by the team).

  2.Uniswap

• Visit UniSwap and purchase UNI; (Ethereum network);

• Then visit Governance and click on Unlock Voiting (Will only be available if you have UNI in your wallet);

3.AAVE

• Purchase AAVE on Ethereum. This can be done on UniSwap or any other exchange;

• Visit AAVE Governance and click on “Set up Delegation”;

• Enter your address or ENS domain to delegate AAVE, then click on “Delegate”.

4.Curve

• Voting on Curve is done by blocking your assets for a certain amount of time, from 1 week to 4 years; (All actions take place on Ethereum, you also need to have CRV on your balance);

• Visit Curve Locker;

• Choose the amount of CRV, the lock time (in this example, we chose 1 year) and click on “Create Lock”;

• Confirm the transaction in your wallet;

• Go to Snapshot and join Curve.

5.1inch

• To start, you need 1inch tokens on Ethereum;

• Then go to the staking section;

• Choose the amount of tokens and the staking time, then confirm the transaction;

• Go to the Delegate section and choose any of the resolvers;

• Confirm the delegation transaction**.** You should now see a button that lets you claim your reward for staking. The reward will grow in time and you can claim it;

• Now visit Snapshot and join 1inch.

6.ENS

• You need to have ENS tokens on Ethereum first. You can send them to your wallet from an exchange or purchase them on UniSwap;

• Visit Governance ENS and click on Delegate Vote;

• Choose “Delegate to myself” and confirm the transaction;

• Visit Snapshot and join ENS.

7.Gitcoin

• To begin voting you need to have GTC on Ethereum; (You can purchase them on UniSwap);

• Go to Tally.xyz and click on Delegate Vote;

• Choose Delegate to myself;

• Now join Gitcoin on Snapshot.

8.Stargate

• To vote on Stargate you need STG tokens. You can purchase them on UniSwap (on Arbitrum);

• Go here, enter the amount of STG and confirm your transactions; (the tokens will be locked for 3 years);

• Visit Snapshot and join Stargate;

9.GMX

• Purchase GMX tokens on UniSwap on the Arbitrum network and visit the Earn section on the GMX website;

• Click on Stake;

• Confirm the GMX staking transaction;

• Visit Snapshot and join GMX.

10.SISMO

• To vote on Sismo you need a Сontibutor badge. To receive it, you either need to participate in a GR15 vote or pass a Proof of Humanity KYC;

11.Shell Protocol

• To vote within Shell Protocol you need to hold a Government Toucan NFT, you can get it on OpenSea;

• Join Shell Protocol on Snapshot.

12.Arbitrum One

• Then they need to be delegated to Tally.xyz;
