Hey peeps, welcome to the backstory of my crowdfunded NFT music release on OpenSea
Read on to find out how you can actually get involved and why I wanted to share this project with you.

I am Kilian Gamlich, an independent music producer and DJ based in Vienna, who’ s mottos is "bringing people music". This can be understood in every way possible (puns and misunderstandings intended).
As a DJ, it' s my job to play the right music so people can come together, celebrate and have rituals.
As a producer it' s my job to bring the right piece of production (a beat, melody or sound) to my collaborator or client, including vocalists, artists or content-creators.
As an artist I see it as my duty to create music that resonates, not only on an emotional level but also on an intellectual level - this means e.g. contributing and appreciating culture, through education or providing the opportunity to exchange and grow sustainable together.
I believe that by combining different sounds or genres we can create a conversation within and between cultures. Sometimes that' s Rock and Hip Hop (Linkin Park + Jay Z), sometimes that' s old and new (Rasputin Remix by Majestic) and sometimes it' s hard and soft (beat and voice from Billie Eilish - bury a friend).
A dialog is the crucial aspect in music which can exist on every level: High and low notes on a piano, kick and snare drum, lead singer and band, or artist and audience. To me, this connection or conversation always portraits the experience of community.
In a connected community no-one can exist without the other. Without people there would be no party. Without the DJ, no sound and without the producers and artists, no new music. We all rely on each other and that’ s good.
This time I want to experiment with the experience of community on another level. I want to bring music to people and people to music, so it creates value for all sides.
This is my experiment creating a community who believes in the music I am putting out and redefining the value of it. This edition funds the distribution and promotion of the song. If you think the track has value you can decide to invest in it and I will release it on streaming platforms.
In exchange I am offering 50% of the royalties with this NFT edition and some extra fun benefits and this is how it works:

Please notice: I am currently researching the potential of blockchain technology to manage master & publish right payments. The option to register NFT holders (via a wallet/contract adress) directly as share-holders using DistroKid, still has to be found. The offer for royalty-rights shares may only be addressed to DistroKid users at this time.
50% of all (music)-royalties are split into 5 NFT’ s, resulting in 10% shares each. As soon as all NFT’ s are sold the song will be distributed and uploaded to DistroKid. There I will add you as a featured artists and record your 10% share.
Please notice: DistroKid collaborators will need to have a DistroKid account to collect their earnings. If you are not already using DistroKid, you will get a 50% discount to sign up.

Every NFT sold on OpenSea (=first sales only) includes the following extras:

Optional: being mentioned as featured artist on all streaming platforms
FIRST BUYER ONLY gets a shout-out in a future production: This can be either a vocal (computer or real voice) calling your name (like a producer tag), a sentence of your choice or anything else we feel right about - let’ s get creative in a video call or IRL :)

After the OpenSea auction is finished, I will upload the track to DistroKid, providing the release on all streaming platforms. The NFT holders need to contact me here: kiliangamlich@gmail.com so I can register “splits” (= your royalty share) with your email-address.
I will provide a pre-save link for all streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Music etc.), you can share with everybody.
Quote: “If a user pre-saves a song or album on Spotify it will automatically appear on their Songs or Albums list as soon as it' s released”.
This way we can promote the song, so platforms will be interested to list it in public playlists.
Spotify and other platform’ s playlists are a great opportunity for songs to be introduced to a new or bigger audience. The amount of pre-saves represents the community behind the artist. So songs that are presaved more often, have a higher chance to be curated in those as they already bring clicks.
Spread the word: you are now part of the community, enabling this track to be heard by a bigger audience, so it unfolds its full potentials. The value of your royalty-share increases with the number of listeners.
Social Media: There will be accompanying audio-visual content (photographs, stories, reels etc.) in collaboartion with photographers, promoting the release.
A press-kit featuring the song, coverart, links to the crowdfunding-NFT project, and a written statement will be sent to radiostations, Instagram-profiles, web-blogs, and personal contacts. You will get access via email, instagram or here - mirror.xyz.
This will prospectively take until mid-october and then:
