As a regular warrior of the battlefield, I have seen and experienced many highs and lows, missed opportunities and gained perspectives, and overall have developed my own sentiment as to the comparison between our two favorite chains.
I myself, was introduced to the idea of crypto back in the 2021 meme days. Since then, I’ve watched the landscape shift before my eyes with constant forward momentum into new ways to push for further adoption throughout the rest of the world. From good actors, to bad actors. From projects with real heart and promise, but lacking the knowledge and ability to gain liquidity, to ridiculous memes that just happened to hit at the right moment and create generational wealth for the lucky few.
There were a few good runners on the Ethereum network, but certainly not a massive amount of Shiba or Pepes popping off. Enter trench time, learning something new on the Solana Blockchain. It was an experience akin to BnB, fast with low fees, but a much lower percentage of complete liquidity rug pulls, or freezes as opposed to the Binance Blockchain. In the beginning, it felt very similar to the bull run of 2021 times, but as more contenders entered the space and launchpads gained popularity; the ease of ability to launch a token within a moments notice, without any backing, but a hope, a dream and/or shady launch practices. The ability to flip a quick 20 to 30% gain is fantastic for the quick trade make a buck scenario, but the incentive to hold is massively diminished by the nature of the Blockchain itself. Please understand, I’m in no way, describing this in a negative connotation, and it has its place in this space just as much as any other protocol, but I want my explanation to be clear as to why I view Solana as the PVP Blockchain.
For me?
A worn in glove. A comfort food from elementary school. Something that feels oddly familiar but fresh at the same time. I have longed for the times of massive communities getting behind memes, and feeling that energy of helping grow knowledge of crypto, investing, four your cycles and so much more to people who would have never before taken an interest; but now do because of a funny meme that they connected to.
Base is really doing it. I’ve only been active within Farcaster and the beta Base app for the past few days, but I am happily falling in love with what made me so intrigued and motivated by cryptocurrency in the first place.
Well, that’s it for now. Thank you for reading my first paragraph and I look forward to transporting my thoughts into text for you more in the future!
