Theo.xyz is an institutional-grade financial technology platform that focuses on tokenizing real-world assets (RWAs) and connecting on-chain capital with global financial markets.
You can think of Theo as a bridge between the crypto world and the traditional financial world. Its main job is to take a very safe, real-world investment—like a U.S. government T-Bill—and "wrap" it into a crypto token (thBILL token, in this case) that you can buy and hold in your own wallet.
For the average DeFi user, Theo offers a solid way to earn low-risk yield by depositing into thBILL pools or money markets across various DeFi apps — and even farm points for a potential airdrop.
I tried the app a few days ago, and my first impression was that the UX could be improved in a few areas — particularly when exploring the deposit options across different pools and money markets. I decided to write this deep dive to highlight the issues I encountered and propose solutions for some of the problems.
The home page is the default screen you see when launching Theo’s app. It displays your balance, key information about thBILL, your thBILL breakdown by network (if you hold any), and — most importantly — all the available deposit options for getting exposure to thBILL yield and earning points.

There are two main issues here:
The way deposit options are presented and explored.
The lack of key information that helps users decide which option to choose when depositing.
Exploration is difficult because pools and money markets are hidden behind a dropdown button, which feels unnecessary. The deposit options are also split into two separate tabs: one for DEXs (liquidity pools for thBILL) and another for money markets. While this separation has some benefits, it ultimately makes it harder for users to view and compare all options in one place.

The deposit options are also missing two key pieces of information that are essential for decision-making: APY and TVL. While every “Supply” button redirects users to a third-party app where the actual deposit happens, Theo could still display this data directly by pulling it from partner APIs. As it stands, users have to check each option individually to compare yields or assess safety based on TVL — a process that feels both slow and unintuitive.
Another issue is that there are currently 26 markets available on Theo, but no way to sort, search, or filter them. Adding a simple search bar along with sorting and filtering options would make browsing through the markets much easier and more efficient.
The term "Dashboard" in DeFi apps is associated with a page where users can see their active positions and manage them. But here, the dashboard page is basically a stats page for the thBILL token.

At the same time, there is no actual dashboard where users can see their deposits (You'd have to go through the listed pools and markets on the home page to find the ones you've deposited into).
The Points page on Theo is actually solid, providing a clear breakdown of points earned each week. The problem is that there’s no ranking system — so what does it mean to have 78 points? Am I in the top 20%, top 50%, or top 90%? A ranking system would give users context on their standing and help them adjust their investments accordingly.

To address the issues mentioned above, I redesigned Theo’s Home and Dashboard pages. My main goal was to improve usability, make it easier for users to explore deposit options, and fix the smaller issues I highlighted earlier.
Here’s the final result for the Home page:

Let’s break down the changes I made, starting with the Deposit Options table:
All deposit options are now visible by default — no more clicking through dropdowns.
Liquidity pools and money markets are no longer separated by tabs. This makes it easier for users to compare all options at a glance. (Users can still sort by the “Type” column to view LP or MM options in a group.)
APY and TVL data are now included in the table, since both are key factors in users’ decision-making.
A search bar and filtering options have been added to help users quickly find specific markets.
Sorting arrows on each column header let users organize data in whatever order they prefer.
And here are some other notable changes to the Home page:
The option to access thBILL via Stargate now has greater emphasis, since it’s a key entry point for users acquiring the token.
User points are more prominently displayed, and a ranking system has been added.
In the sidebar, a new Stats item replaces the old Dashboard link, providing quick access to key information about the thBILL token.
The Dashboard page has been reworked into a true dashboard that displays users’ active positions. It now also includes a deposit history, along with information previously shown on the Home page — such as portfolio balance, thBILL balance, and its network breakdown.

This redesign was all about making Theo easier and more intuitive to use. From surfacing all deposit options upfront to adding APY, TVL, search, sorting, and a points ranking system, the goal was simple: help users make decisions faster and understand their positions at a glance.
Small tweaks in layout, visibility, and information flow can go a long way — and in DeFi, where complexity is the norm, making the user experience feel effortless can make all the difference.
