Doxxed or anon?
I think this is a layered question and so nuanced. Ultimately, in the surveillance state, we are all completely doxxed. James Bridle is articulate on this issue. But I also like the idea of identities, different skins. I have a few different skins and you can probably find them all if u try hard enough.
What’s the story behind your favourite NFT?

I bought punk 2681 on Boxing Day in 2020. I was on holiday in the remote south west of Tasmania trading cryptopunks on my mobile phone. I mean this is a very remote place called Strachan. My girlfriend was not happy but I saw the intersection of art, tech and really passionate founders/artists and everything clicked. I knew what the ethereum EVM was and this was just a very exciting moment. I maxxed out all my credit cards and busted my transfer limits with my bank and bought 24 punks, and probably would have bought more but ran out of money. 54K USD on a jpg was not really considered normal at that time. Six weeks later I couldn’t handle the rise and sold everything. I sat on the beach and felt better. Obviously my thinking around NFT’s has changed since then but I am glad for that journey. Lol, I had a 500k NFT and hadn’t even heard of a Ledger at that time. I mean these were heady days and I don’t blame myself for selling what is now a very valuable asset. I put all the funds in a trust for my kids education, paid my taxes and tried to process.
I subsequently realised the future opportunities were wide and far ranging. But it’s a process.

If money were no object, which NFT would you buy?
A 1/1 xcopy
If money were no object, What physical artwork would you buy?
Perhaps a John Currin, Paula Rego or Laura Owens
How did you get into the NFT space?
I missed BTC, caught ethereum a few years ago and rode that up and down, so I was familiar with the EVM, then discovered cryptopunks in Dec 2020. I have an interest in art history and also tech so I was interested in the confluence of those two. Every day I become more bullish/red pilled on the possibilities NFTs offer. A moment of understanding for me was chatting to Mr703. Having sold a ton of cryptopunks I asked him where he invested his money and he responded: ‘100% NFTs’. That did give me pause for thought, given that I had sold out completely within 6 weeks. Will see how this ages, but am presently selling real estate and share market assets to buy NFT’s. The opportunities seem to be compelling.
How much time do you spend in Web3 on an average day?
6 hours. I have a day job, which helps. I think mental health, exercise and the 24/7 nature of crypto are a potent mix. The smoking of 2022 is probably the iphone/instagram/opensea/tiktok/discord nexus.
How did you come into The Heni community and what interests you most?
I was wrong in a few ways here. I was sceptical wrt to palm, but thought DH would succeed in NFTs. I was connected to the NFT twitter community and heard about the drop. I already had a few addresses and qualified for a few mints. I traded a bit and arbed the blockchain price differential copying HAL for a while.
What i was wrong about was how the quickly the NFT space would become blockchain agnostic, how professional the Heni and DH team are, but also locked down, and how great the divergence between web 3 native artists and trad art is.
Going forward, I will buy only native web 3 artists. There is no meaningful possibility of a transition from trad art to web3, just in the same way Volvo will never make an amazing electric car. This has been an important heuristic for me.
What’s the play? DHC? GE? MAD C? EMPRESS? PHYSICAL ART? FRAMES: A layer 2 Tender work
What would you like to see most as Heni and its NFT business evolves? CC0.
Have you done any Art? Would you care to share? FRAMES. Dropping soon to $DOT holders for no reason.
Any tips on finding incredible NFTS or NFT Artists/Projects? Twitter lists. Being helpful in the discords. Definitely not flips finance.
What is your fave piece of Art? A Goya painting in the Roden crater with an Ad Reinhardt background.
Fave Trad Artist?
Goya because modern to every generation Hogkin for economy of language Reinhardt for philosophy Bacon/Borremans for figurative work Paula Rego for scale Laura Owens for keeping painting relevant in a digital age
Fave NFT Artist? Giant swan Xcopy Nude Robot
Fave band, musician or song? RRR Radio Melbourne, esp Breaking and Entering Crooked colours, Set Mo, Tycho, so many more
Fave book of all time? Denial of Death. Ryan Holiday has this concept of ‘quake books’. Books that shake and shape your worldview irrevocably. Denial of death and David Foster Wallace Infinite Jest fit that criteria for me.
Best Web3 Meme? Impossible to pick one, probably ermagherd

NFT boxes, the Xcopy discord, Tezos, Nude robot
