If you had asked me a year ago what Web3 was, I might have looked at you with a puzzled expression. Fast-forward to today, and I’m on a mission to dive headfirst into the world of crypto and blockchain-based platforms. After dabbling in the basics and realizing there’s still so much more to learn, I decided to take on a year-long challenge: test out and review one crypto/Web3 product every single day for 365 days.
I’ve always been fascinated by the pace at which technology evolves, and Web3 is no exception. Every time I visit a crypto forum or scroll through Twitter, I hear about a new blockchain platform, DApp, or NFT marketplace that promises to change the game. Rather than just reading about them, I want to roll up my sleeves and actually try them out.
Consistency: By committing to a daily schedule, I’m forcing myself to stay curious and keep exploring.
Accountability: When you announce a goal publicly—like posting a review every day—it’s a lot harder to give up halfway through.
Learning in Public: There’s something powerful about sharing both successes and struggles with a community. If I encounter difficulties with a platform, I’ll document it honestly, so others can learn from my experiences.
One Product a Day: Each morning, I’ll pick a new Web3 product or platform to explore. This could be anything from a browser extension to a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol or a brand-new NFT marketplace.
Hands-On Testing: I’ll set aside time to use the platform. This includes signing up, connecting a wallet, creating an account—whatever steps are required to get the full experience.
Video Review: Once I’m done experimenting, I’ll record a short video highlighting:
My initial impressions of the platform’s UI and user experience (UX)
Any hurdles or complications I faced (especially as someone who’s relatively new to Web3)
Key features that stood out
Hard Score Out of 10: After each test, I’ll give the platform a score. It’s a subjective rating, of course, but I’ll explain my reasoning—whether it’s user-friendliness, functionality, or overall value.
Daily Blog & Social Posts: In addition to the video, I’ll write up a concise blog post with any extra details and post it on my social channels to keep the conversation going.
I’ve only been exploring Web3 for a short while, so my technical knowledge is limited (but growing). That’s actually an advantage here because:
Fresh Eyes: If something is confusing to me, it might be confusing to countless others. By sharing my raw reactions, I can help product teams see where newcomers get stuck.
Approachable for Web2 Users: Many people still perceive crypto as too technical or exclusive. By sharing my step-by-step learning process, I hope to make these products more relatable and encourage other newcomers to dive in.
Use Cases: It’s easy to talk about blockchain in abstract terms, but I want to see real-world applications. Which platforms are genuinely solving problems—and which are just hype?
Community & Support: In Web3, community engagement is huge. I’ll be paying close attention to how projects engage their users, handle support, and foster a sense of belonging.
Security & Transparency: I want to see how platforms handle security measures. How easy is it to set up a wallet? Do they have robust documentation for potential risks?
Accessibility: Web3 products often promise decentralized freedom, but can a total beginner use them confidently? I’ll document how user-friendly they truly are.
If you’re a Web3 veteran, a crypto-curious observer, or a skeptic who thinks it’s all a bubble—your input is welcome! The more perspectives, the better. If there’s a specific tool, platform, or DApp you think I should explore, let me know. I’m actively compiling a list of 365 (yes, 365!) products to check out over the next year.
While the ultimate goal is to post 365 product reviews, I’m also planning some mini-milestones:
Day 30 Recap: A look back at the first month of reviews, including the biggest surprises and challenges.
Day 100 Recap: Checking in to see if my view of Web3 has shifted or expanded.
Mid-Year Reflection: By Day 183, I’m hoping to see a clear improvement in how smoothly I navigate new products.
Final Day Celebration: A comprehensive summary of the entire journey, which platforms left the strongest impression, and how my skills have evolved.
There’s no denying this is an ambitious undertaking—one that requires curiosity, commitment, and a dash of courage. The Web3 world can be confusing and overwhelming, but it’s also brimming with potential. By tackling one product a day, I aim to build both my own understanding and a resource for others who want a real, unfiltered look at the state of crypto products in 2025.
I’m excited (and a bit nervous) to embark on this journey, but I truly believe that by diving into these platforms and sharing my honest thoughts, we can all learn a bit more about what Web3 has to offer. Let’s explore, experiment, and break down barriers together.
Have a Web3 product you think I should try?
Drop a comment or shoot me a message with your suggestions—I’ll make sure to add it to my ever-growing list of 365 platforms to explore. Let the challenge begin!
