In the last fully Ukrainian-controlled city in the Luhansk region, troops repelled a Russian attack on the southern outskirts of Lysychansk, Governor Serhiy Haidai said on Friday. The regional governor also wrote on Telegram that Ukraine will withdraw its troops defending Sievierodonetsk, which has been the focus of heavy fighting, adding that it made “no sense” to keep fighters in such a heavily compromised position.
