Motorheadz by @jvmi were released through Quixotic’s launchpad on July 29th.
Free mint, a dip to as low as 0.0005E during the first 3 days and then trending up with insane x80 gains peaking at 0.041E FP on 8/8!
Let’s take a look!

So the first thing I thought is… why did they moon? 🤔
So here’s the answer 👇
I don’t know. Okay for realz, no bullshit I truly DO NOT know.
But I’m curious about potential reasons and can’t leave you hanging just like that.
Let’s quickly check these things out:
@jvmi is a frontend engineer @optimismFND
jvmi’s instagram has 1.7k followers.
the website is very well done.
his mirror post gave some context into his collection
The art is good for layer 2
Not an insanely big collection, 4.3k. I equate this number to default 10k collections on mainnet. It was downtrading for 3 days because it was in the process of minting but as it got minted out, which was really important, buying has been the only option since then.
Even though it was a free mint you had to be whitelisted to mint, to do that you needed to fill out a google form and you could input up to 3 Ethereum addressees there. Obviously, it ended up being botted but maybe not as bad as it could’ve been with a regular public mint without any WL.
With all this information the rise of motorheadz doesn’t seem too bewildering now. And as of right, now 8/15/2022 (1AM PST), the FP is trading at 0.022E+.
Transparency: I do still hold some motorheadz that I was buying during the initial dumps and some of those are yet to be sold and others are yet to be listed.
I’m going to post this as a thread on my twitter.
Let me know what to look into next!
Feedback is appreciated :)
