I recently stumbled upon a familiar pattern that surrounds me in almost every work field I have ever touched: when suddenly everything seems unpromising. You make something inside your information bubble, and when it bursts, no one understands. Or even worse, no one even looks your way.
For better or worse, I've decided to write more often. To share the process, pieces of research, opinions, well, almost every single part of worthy enough information. In my second entry, I wrote that I consider this Mirror page a diary – now it's time to embrace this notion fully.
There are a few more reasons for this change:
I've been getting sucked into the feeling of not accomplishing anything. A few months ago, our team started working 100% remotely across many countries, and it's still a little hard to coordinate all of us simultaneously. Moreover, the physical connections gave each of us the feelings of little wins: be it a piece of sketch or a full-on research paper. So, we're still figuring out the remote support system. And for me, this blog is a subtle way to remind myself that work is getting done. Piece by piece.
The news is grim these days, especially if you live inside the countries involved in the current conflict. The engagement machine is getting impossible to ignore, especially since offline the current affairs - is almost everything you discuss with everybody. So, the diary is also a tool for escaping. That's why I won't talk politics here.
Every Friday every week, I will write something for 30 minutes. Or share a piece of content. This is where I commit – to me first and foremost – to be visible and make my work visible. Even if only for a few people. The goal: is to survive inside this model as long as possible. Even with the silliest, most naive content that I'm sure I will produce in this journey.
But in the end, I'm sure it'll all be worthwhile.
Talk to you soon. Have a lovely weekend.
