They said the best bear market tactic is to make routines for yourself. Little did they know that it's basically a headlining framework of my entire adult life.
Now for a little journey down memory lane. "Producer" is all about control over the unpredictable. Being a full-time producer means creating a specific work protocol that follows you from set to set, a daily checklist of sorts for every shoot you encounter: don't forget to call that makeup person, bring in flowers for a receptionist at the studio, text to the artist's manager in advance, etc. Almost every producer I ever knew had some sort of a protocol (or at least a native to-do app that they were hypnotically using on a daily basis). I'm not saying I'm fantastic or anything, but the fact is that every department (in the RU market at least) constantly forgets things. That's why the great line producer is a miracle – and that's why I was always busy with work.
Now, when each new day feels more explosive than the previous one, only the routines are helping me stay sane. In the atmosphere of complete unpredictability sticking around the same tactics I used in my producing life helps me navigate through the storm. But now it's as simple as having the same breakfast and lunch every day, a set of few outlined hiking destinations, locked up periods for researching new projects, white papers, Twitter, Telegram, and email letters – all this helps immensely. It's almost like a brand new layer of reality that I can control. And the more I'm aware of these routines' healing effect, the more I realize that these habits also helped me be more skeptical towards almost anything.
After a few early commercial projects, I've learned that the biggest mistake you can make as an up-and-coming producer is to start feeling yourself right in every situation. That's when you can no longer see the flexible routes that each problematic situation needs in times of turbulence – so you're doomed. With few exceptions, I avoided this trap for the most part, but only moving towards crypto finally pushed me toward constant skepticism. It turned out (oh, surprise) that there's so much bullshit out there. So the first tool you must implement when you set up a foot in crypto – is to stick to a vast matrix of well-established routines and habits. For me, that's a starting point to make it through almost anything.
(But don't listen to me and instead watch Haseeb talking about the current state of things much more elegantly: https://youtu.be/GnkQCVAgAtY)
