How It Started
I entered Ethereum in 2021 out of pure curiosity. My first hackathon, ETHGlobal Amsterdam, after DevConnect in 2022, changed everything. I went expecting code, but found connection. Somewhere between late-night debugging and the chaos of demo day, I realised Ethereum's real magic isn't just technical, it's deeply human.
Ethereum lets individuals collaborate, experiment, and create change together without waiting for permission. Hooked by that experience, I went on to hack in New York, Bogota and Bengaluru in 2022. But one thing stood out: too few Africans and too few women in the room. That insight stayed with me. Visa hurdles, high travel costs, and institutional barriers kept too many brilliant builders, especially across Africa, on the sidelines.
And as a woman in those spaces, I noticed how few others looked like me.
When women see other women hack, lead, and build, it changes what feels possible.
That realisation became the question that wouldn't leave me: If people can't get to Ethereum, why not bring Ethereum to them?
Building ETHAccra
That insight led me to found ETHAccra in 2023, to bring the ecosystem to them and to inspire more women with the magic of hackathons. However, the vision had been alive since 2021, when I first registered the Twitter handle. The goal of ETHAccra is to make Ethereum hackathon culture accessible in West Africa. We didn't start with large budgets or backing, only a belief in what happens when curiosity meets opportunity. I've been deeply involved in every aspect of this growth. As the founder, I took care of partnerships, product management, operations, user experience and team leadership.
Over three years, ETHAccra grew into a thriving ecosystem, and these are some of my proudest achievements:
700+ attendees, supported 500+ hackers, and showcased 120+ projects.
Securing over USD 150k in multi-edition sponsorships from leading Ethereum projects, including Optimism, ENS, The Graph, Near, Celo, Lisk, Buidl Guidl and Ethereum Support Program.
Forging 25+ cross sector partnerships with organisations like UNICEF, H. E.R DAO, ETHGlobal, the Swiss Embassy, Python Ghana, React Ghana and many more Ethereum communities across the globe.
Designing developer pipelines across five Ghanaian universities, launching educational programs that have attracted 1000+ developer subscribers on Luma, five onchain student hubs, and growing our online community to 1700+ followers on X.
Managing and scaling a distributed team of 5, leading, hiring, onboarding, performance management and coordination across multiple locations.
With a women led, mostly all-women team, we naturally attracted many female hackers.
ETHAccra is more than a hackathon; we also conduct research, and I actively advise other African Ethereum communities on developer enablement, helping them design educational pipelines, mentorship programs and partnerships strategies that empower builders from zero to shipping. This milestone reflects a collective effort to make Ethereum accessible and meaningful for African builders, creators and dreamers.
From Builders to Builders
Every edition reminds me why this work matters: For example, in 2024, a first-time participant joined ETHAccra with no hackathon experience. A year later, she came back, confident, better prepared, and ready to ship. Her project used ENS subnames and Base to build programmable payment routers that automate fund splits and savings.
Today she's on her way to DevConnect Buenos Aires, the first Ethereum World Fair.
Stories like hers are ETHAccra's heartbeat: access --> confidence --> opportunity.
What's Next
After three years of building ETHAccra, I'm proud of the foundation we've created and excited for new challenges in partnerships, ecosystem or product management.
With a finance background, two master's degrees (Economics & Information Systems), and fluency in five languages (including German, English and French), I bring both structure and empathy to complex organisations. I've been a two-time ETHGlobal finalist and a frequent speaker and emcee at EthCC, Devcon and ETHPrague. Outside of Ethereum, I'm a football ⚽ aficionado, foodie, and lover of games, and aah yes, I have a slightly quirky superpower, remembering names and faces for years (less creepy than it sounds and great for community building 😉).
ETHAccra thought me that ecosystems don't grow from code alone; they grow from trust, persistence, and shared belief. That same curiosity that sparked ETHAccra still drives me today: to connect, to build, and to help communities thrive - wherever they may be.
I'm excited to bring those same values to my next team.
If that resonates, my DMs are open. I'll be at DevConnect in Buenos Aires, always happy to chat over coffee, watch a football match, or share a good glass of wine.

It’s amazing to see how ETHAccra isn’t just about coding but about building confidence, community, and access. Your story reminds me a bit of the mindset in https://geometrydashlite2.io—leveling up takes persistence, learning from failures, and pushing through challenges until you finally land that perfect run.
