For some the post industrial area with its wide open spaces, grafittied walls, old cobblestones and between the old gas installation which are now just circular (tube) reminders of a industrial gas era of Rome. lies the area of teh old center matadero. which gave birth to the architect school. Architects and other creatives that are building new these are rough diamonds, full of opportunities like an empty canvas, and a great metaphor of re-building society on the remains o a old system that deemed absolute and not functioning.
Its almost unbelievable that in here beside the river Tiber Travestere neighborhood of Rome a place so open and colorful exist. its like an bubble of reality within a this very magentic city.
To arrive at the Urbe Hub where a Urbe Akasha Hub is being opened to the public.
The story is one of friends.
The best stories start like that, friends that build and with their enthusiasm and positive vibes toured the world, and now would like to return the favor with a place they can welcome people themselves.
The big open space, on the edges there are different spaces, with of course a bar a restaurant and and a space where there is a projector and we can see the presentations. The place seems rough on the edges, but is surprisingly well set up on the interiors. And we enter the cosy space were at least 60 people could nicely see the presentations.
Bit by bit the guest are dripping in, reunions and people that worked digitally meeting in IRL for the first time, even the sun came and meet and greets are outside. The Bordeaux red urbe hoodies which is the uniform of the cheerful Italian friends, that many on any eth event would recognize are plenty.
When i started to see old fiends and got to know new people I realized that this is not just a Rome web3 Hub, but this place and mostly this group is bringing together the whole Italian ecosystem. Sicily, Napels and other regions of Italy are present. This is the first IRL Hub dedicated to building and spreading of the web3 message in Italy. The guys from ETH Bucharest took time out from their preparations of the event that is happening in April to come to Rome to be here.
Of course there is great coffee and delicious cookies served. And we are eager to know more about what these guys have been upto.
