Let's talk about account engagement and how to boost your casts. You're asking why should it matter to you? because your everything (allowance, airdrops etc etc) are all related to how seen your account is and Power Badge is simply a sign of that.
To be seen by other accounts is becoming a more and more challenging issue for every account in Warpcast even the top casting accounts, and having a strategy rather than not, always leads to better results.
Most of the information I am sharing is common knowledge from Twitter and it's algorithm combined with what we know about Warpcast and Farcaster and it's algorithm so far. All that being said what I write here is totally based on personal experience and may be wrong, so do consider what I write but do your own research as well. I must clarify that we're mainly focusing on Warpcast because for example, Nook (R.I.P) had different tabs for priority or Jam.so has it's own tabs. and what we're talking about here is the Warpcast's untouched home button that almost everyone uses.
To start with you need to know that each platform has an algorithm that decides what type of content is preferred over other contents when it comes to "feed" and timeline tab; and as you are aware, Warpcast has channels that we're using for our content and to utilize channels there are different criteria that Warpcast implies including: Owners first, top casters (removed recently but I have a point that is valid about this), Power Badged users and "engaged by the owner". So it's safe to say that if you're a new user in Warpcast and you say oh cool let me cast in the biggest channel there is which is /meme so everyone sees my cast, most likely nobody will see that at all!
But why is that so? well there are some simple facts that you should consider before even thinking about casting:
Who is your target audience? to reach certain people you gotta ask yourself: have i engaged with these people before? if not, then maybe you have missed a step before hoping to gain engagement on your casts. So the point is that you SHOULD engage with others to start being seen. If you're not engaging with others, others will not engage with your content. It's a simple rule, tit for tat.
What type of content are you casting? to cast everything that comes to your mind specially when you're a new account and not seen by everyone is really not a good idea. You should make your content engaging!
"but wait Alex, we're here to learn that!"
Yes you are but this is different trust me! engaging in a sense that your content should have a loop hope that make others come reply to your cast. In twitter people started with math questions, riddles, puzzles etc etc. but that ain't working in warpcast! (or maybe it does) but really, when you're informing your friends and followers that i touched the grass today only those close to you will come and say wow! for Mr. X the stranger from far away that doesn't follow you there's no line to engage with. At best they may simply leave a like if they're kind enough. So we need to find the type of content that makes others reply to you. And as we're in the web3, you may have noticed that engagement farmers usually attract people by promising them something like Degen or floaties, etc. But that is not a natural way of making your account engaging because when you stop promising something, they stop engaging with you.
But that's it for today, this is a very long thread and I think I wrote more than your 10 minutes coffee time read. I will continue this thread if people find it interesting enough. thanks for bearing with me so far, wishing you all a happy day.
