I have been acting as product manager recently on my last roles and if I would tell you one skill to be a good PM this skill is the problem solving capacity. It means that you are able to synthesize a situation, recognize the problem, establish a few root causes, raise some hypothesis and drive market oriented solutions that potentially can become a product feature somewhere.
I truly believe that web3 has the real potential of solving real people problems and when this start to happen and become real, people will be using web3 technologies without even knowing it.
You noticed that I used the word real 3 times, not a coincidence, but to emphasize how web3 is real and if you didn’t notice it and how it can impact your day to day routine it’s something that I would start looking for.
Going into what this technology is, you probably have heard about NFTs before. We saw famous people into it, changing their profile picture from their own pictures to a some weird monkey or a punk picture that a lot of people said it was made in paintbrush. Some people earned a lot of money and others loose, but reading this you are probably asking, where are the solution or the problem this is solving?
The guys at Inevitable (great place to learn more about this topic) brought a sentence to my attention that I believe is what define this technology… the next big thing would come in a format of a toy!
First NFT use case back in 2018 were profile picture avatars followed by access to strong communities and game items in 2021. All of these uses seems like a adult toy and are currently bringing many other use cases that will soon impact people routine and the way companies work with their processes, CRM (Customer Relationship Manager) and marketing.

Now let’s talk about problems and you will definitely recognize yourself in at least one of these:
Airline ticketing ownership - if you cannot travel and want to transfer/sell your ticket to someone else this is impossible with current system.
Intellectual property and digital ownership of books, music, photo, video and etc - easily copied, distribution controlled by web2 companies. Have you received a e-book in PDF that you didn’t bought?
Loyalty programs management - had to deal on a daily basis with different loyalty programs management. Have you ever forgot your cashback from one of your favorite store?
Digital Identity - The need of having different and strong passwords per several services - who uses the same password or pattern in order to remember all needed password for you digital life?
Cloud storage concentration - current service dominance are in 3 companies, which can be very centralized, and a single investment on this area is not feasible due to high costs
Community governance - a way to organize and engage loyal customers that want to participate on decisions
Access for broader audience in investment types that was broadly dominated by big players - investment in real state project are current concentrated in a fee players and also credit access are concentrated into banks.
Events (concerts, sports and etc) ticketing - Have your bought a false ticket for a big concert, or lost your paper access to the VIP area?
Product conformity certification - countries or economic groups who have auto declarations of conformity in place does not provide transparency to the consumers
Notary needs for signature confirmation, real state registration
Solar energy farms governance - investment in clean energy in a community effort
University and courses certificates - record falsification, proof of completion, former students community management
Medical records ownership - who actually owns your medical data? Have you ever have access to the data hospitals have about you?
From these problems came from you can find even more.
Now following product management discovery process, next steps will be build a product canvas for each one of these problems and find the features we can bring live and start building solutions.
