Introducing 2.0 - DeFi's Ultimate Interest Rate Protocol
In early 2021, after several months of working on testnet releases, we launched a beta version of the APWine protocol on the Ethereum Mainnet. At that time, the primary motivation behind the project was to help DeFi farmers to protect their crops from APY volatility. However, as we talked to our first users and received genuine feedback on the concept, we realized a strong need for more sophisticated tools for all-things interest rates in DeFi. After countless hours of coding, researching, an...

Winemakers! Welcome to our first recap on Mirror.
Last month we explored Lens Protocol as the new, Web3 native medium to share thoughts and updates for all things APWine in a decentralized manner.
This month we continue on this path by expanding to Mirror - our new official channel for protocol updates & communications.
Without further ado, let's recap July 2022 in detail 👇

On July 18th, nearly the whole APWine team traveled to Paris for the largest Ethereum conference in Europe. A full week of hard work went into preparing our booth and speaking to more than 500 people who rolled thru our stand.
Real conversations, real handshakes and real swag 🍷

All the hard work that went into preparations paid off as our booth ended up being one of the busiest during the EthCC!

During our stay in Paris, we helped organize and co-sponsor two of the most notable crypto parties; Future of France and La_Degen.

Some even made APWine tattoos! What a great time full of 🍷

During the conference, our friendship with the most prominent French crypto media outlet, Cryptoast, tightened. Their premiere edition of the physical newspaper has landed only on our booth for grabs, resulting in extra engagement at our booth.
See the whole EthCC story here.
Two APWine Co Founders, Ulysse & Gaspard, have been in the spotlight of cameras on two occasions.
Ulysse spoke at EthCC about UX Flows featuring APWine:

While Gaspard has been invited by the prominent French media outlet Cryptoast to talk about all things APWine (warning; it’s in French)

On July 14, the APGP10 has been executed. Following an extensive governance proposal and discussions, the distribution of 250,000 unclaimed $APW tokens among veAPW holders has crystalized.
Over the next 2 years, 250K APW (0.5% of total supply) will be distributed to veAPW holders.

The result of the APIP2 dictated the next network deployment for the APWine Protocol.
With over 50% votes, Arbitrum has been chosen as the next stop. Once deployed, APWine will mark the first yield tokenization protocol on this lightning-fast network.
We’re more than happy to see the Arbitrum Network supporting us at the pre-integration stage on Twitter; further boosting awareness of the APWine Protocol.
Our team is now working on integrating the three interest-bearing tokens of Beefy Finance our community voted for in the latest Winelisting.
Speaking of which…

The fourth winelisting saw a record-breaking amount of iBTS to vote on. The voting went live at 12:00 PM CET on 13 Jul 2022 and lasted 7 days.
This time, we’ve seen iBT candidates of protocols such as Compound, Angle, Bancor, or Lido. Head over to the official announcement to see the full list.
Winemakers with voting power were able to participate in Winelisting #4 via APWine’s Snapshot or native Dapp.
The winners are yet to be officially announced once all iBTs get integrated into the APWine Protocol.
Yes, you heard that right. APWine is now exploring new mediums of communications that align with the decentralization ethos.
On the day of ‘going live,’ we’ve been warmly welcomed by Stani and Lens protocol:

With their help, we’ve been able to gain an initial follower base 🔥

It’s so comprehensive even the main Dune Twitter account has put it in the spotlight (first via retweet, then a separate tweet below):

In July, our army of interns put together a series of educational tweets about APWine and the interest rate markets in general. Here’s a full list if you missed them:
APWine is the pioneering protocol for tokenized yield in Web3. Users can leverage the protocol to fix interest rates, speculate on APR evolution or receive future yield in advance (even today).
