The Need for Variety in Onchain Music and the Future of Popular Music: Invest in Music Onchain Curat…
In the world of onchain music, where technology meets innovation and creativity, it's surprising to discover that there's a significant lack of variety. This week I was shocked to discover that Sound.xyz has only around 3.6k tracks available. While this might sound like a decent number, it becomes glaringly evident that there's a genre bias at play when you delve deeper. Much like the heyday of SoundCloud, the dominant genres in onchain music are hip-hop and electronic. One cou...

Is It Time to Be Critical of Onchain Music? - Invest In Music Onchain Curator Season 1
Over the past week, a question has been circling my mind: "Is It Time to Be Critical of Onchain Music?" As someone who has primarily favored positive reviews in the past, I've taken some time to reflect on this matter. In this piece, I aim to unpack the motivations behind my reviewing approach, examine the possible advantages of constructive critique, and present an artist whose remarkable work I believe merits your attention. Why I've Kept My Reviews Mostly Positive First and forem...

In a space overflowing with new music releases, I've been able to pull together another exciting round of music recommendations for Invest in Music’s (@invinmusic) Onchain Curator Season 1. My mission? To unearth the gems hidden within the vast realm of onchain music, regardless of genre.
As a curator, I take pride in my discerning ear, particularly when it comes to electronic/bass-heavy tracks, rock in its myriad forms, and a healthy dose of hip-hop. That being said, this season, I've decided to take a different approach to my music discovery process. I've challenged myself to set aside my all of musical biases and delve deep into songs that don't typically fall within my preferred genres. We all have our musical preferences; it's what makes us unique. However, my primary focus at the moment is to highlight exceptionally talented artists who are creating remarkable music and distributing it on the blockchain. I'm here to seek out and promote HIGH-QUALITY MUSIC. After all, isn't the joy of music exploration all about embracing diversity and discovering the unexpected?
In the weeks to come, I plan to use some of these newly discovered tracks to curate some more Arella-centric compilations that will showcase sonically cohesive journeys of my own design. These future playlists will provide a window into my evolving musical preferences, shaped by the vast array of onchain music I've been immersing myself in.
For now, you can enjoy my master playlist or simply scroll through the list below to join me on this exciting musical journey as I uncover the latest and greatest tracks. Be sure to stay tuned for an immersive voyage into the vibrant and boundless world of onchain music, where the pursuit of quality knows no limits. Together, we'll celebrate the artistry and creativity of musicians who are leaving a significant mark in this digital landscape!

Let me introduce you to Kevin Thomas (@kevinmthomas). While his track "Rock Me All Night Long" may not be everyone's cup of tea, especially in terms of mixing and mastering, it certainly channels solid AC/DC vibes. I eagerly anticipate his growth and mastery of this under appreciated sound.
If you haven't heard of Domino (@dominosmusic), you might be new to the world of onchain music. This smooth, low-tempo rap track, featuring the great Sara Phillips (@Sara_JPhillips), is a true masterpiece. It's not just an evergreen bop; it's a collectible you'd want to add to your wallet.
