Julia Blanc has been a force of nature in the digital fashion space. Her designs are intergalactic yet somehow still feel like home. Her range in technique also spans as vast as universes, from texturing to pattern making to those shiny chrome-like puffer jackets I’m so in love with.Mission '22 Planet Love. Credit: OnClickCloset, IANA and ArtisantBorn south of the equator, I’m no stranger to underwater adventures and surfing the tide. In the metaverse, I frequently visit digital Atlantica and pay my respects to Ariel, the Little Mermaid. And, on rare occasion, she lets me raid her subaqueous wardrobe filled with gleaming gowns and pearly tiaras. But resurfacing from these nautical dreams means I need to morph back into my human self and shed my glimmering tail. Much like how the sea’s tides brus...

Traditional fashion weeks are in full swing this week, with major fashion houses showcasing their Fall/Winter 2022 collections in New York, London, Milan and Paris. However, it is Digital Fashion Week New York (DFWNY), taking place from tomorrow 10 February 2022 until 13 February 2022, that has sparked interest in the metaverse. This year’s theme: NFT Edition.
From panel discussions and workshops to digital fashion debuts, DKWNY has created a space for attendees to be in the same virtual spaces as some of the biggest names in Web 3.0 meta fashion, gamification and more. Here’s a rundown of what to expect.

Staying true to their vision of inclusivity, DKWNY has made several of their events free to attend. Others require a fee to enter. The lowest fees start at $2.00 (£1.47) for the Workshops for the Future of Fashion on 11 February 2022.
Some events are virtual whilst others are both virtual and in-person, such as the Digital Animation Live Screening on 11 February 2022.
Tickets to the individual events taking place across all 4 days are available through Eventbrite. Simply create an account (if you don’t already have one) and register for the show you would like to attend.
The tickets will be emailed to you once you have registered and detail how to access each event. Unfortunately, some shows, such as the free-to-attend panel discussions, are already booked up.

DFWNY has a total of 8 events hosted across 4 days. Below is a brief breakdown of each show.
Open for all 4 days The Virtual Fashion Exhibition will showcase virtual runway shows, collections from digital fashion designers and the opportunity to chat with industry leaders. This event can be accessed throughout the duration of DFWNY.
