Base Colors is the NFT collection for every color on the internet. The collection is comprised of 16,777,216 non-fungible tokens (NFTs), each representing one of the 16,777,216 colors of the RGB color system, the global standard for digital colors. Once the full collection is minted, every color will have an owner, and every color will have a name. Base Colors is intended to be novel, fundamental, and accessible. It is novel due to the sheer size of the collection relative to other NFT projects, and the various implications that arise from that difference. It is fundamental because it is based on the universally established color system, and color is arguably the most fundamental element of all art. Finally, it is accessible in that every color can be minted for 0.001 ETH (~$3 USD inclusive of fees at the time of writing). We created Base Colors first and foremost because we believe it is a fundamentally interesting project, and we believe interesting things are worth doing. The project’s ultimate destiny will be determined by its owners, but to the extent that we have a mission for the project, it is to accelerate the mass adoption of crypto globally.
