2025 marked a breakthrough year for builders in West Africa as the Base ecosystem expanded its footprint, supporting startups, launching innovative products, and creating opportunities for local developers to thrive in the onchain economy.
From Lagos to Accra, builders leveraged Base to scale their projects, reach new users, and raise funds.
Base West Africa supported 120+ startups, helping them bring their ideas to life on the blockchain.
These startups launched 55+ live products. Among these, 4 startups successfully raised funding, including Azza, Hurupay, and cNGN.
14 products from the region expanded to/ integrated with Base, including:
Roqqu: a platform enabling seamless crypto trading
Busha: simplifying crypto investments for everyday users
Chipper: building efficient payments infrastructure
Quidax: expanding crypto accessibility across the region
