At Nouns Town LA last year, all tickets were free for everybody. It was great, because we kept a nominally expensive per person event accessible for everyone who was able to make the trip to LA - which came at it's own price point. I generally believe that events for and by Nouns should be as accessible as possible at a low price point or for free.
